Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A young child was one of the people hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

The incident – described by police as was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
