‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt ready to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Enough time has gone by that I can finally articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the film, commenting that he could not remember "one day without mirth".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes expressed.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He ended with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a distinct tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with everyone, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate put a security hold on the cases to limit the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" connected to the probe.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a public database listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
