The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many people into the National Football League

That result may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an advantage over their eight and two rivals

Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or could it simply have been a bad day for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 victors in an surprising result - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third quarter and first points in the final quarter - yes the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the league's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa passed for two scores but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns

Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and just over fifty percent their 161.5 yard season average

Additionally there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine-minute drive yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that Miami converted to a touchdown just later

It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Allen trying to do too much to dig his team out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season

The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the American Football Conference East

Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Regarding the Patriots, they're among three different 8-2 squads in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the top team?

One could pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and Indianapolis actually for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their total twenty-four wins achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Denver

Denver defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime success in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration

Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive victories, similar to the Broncos, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to get ready was huge

Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to steer his team to victory

The defensive unit is solid and first-year rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth runner to break 22mph this season on his initial touchdown

While you can debate who 'the top team' is statistically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, although a significant contest against Buffalo

Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a long way to go but the opportunity is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Next Week Clash

Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three eight and two teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who both put up forty points to go to 7-2 ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the pair in LA

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a game

Each could realistically be undefeated as too - especially the Rams as their pair of losses came in extra time against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly among the best sides in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year so far

Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
